Project CARS 2 Ginetta G57 Daytona

Previous multiple-times Porsche Carrera Cup champion, ADAC GT Masters champion and DTM driver René Rast is back at it again, virtually of course. Today, the German racing driver uploaded a new video to his YouTube channel of him ripping around Fuji Speedway in the Corvette C7.R in Project CARS 2.

Already during the development of the original Project CARS, Rast played a role in development like other racing drivers, e.g. Ben Collins or Nicolas Hamilton, but was also famous for showcasing early builds and new content on his YouTube channel. So probably, we can expect more videos from him on Project CARS 2 in the future.

New cars

Apart from that, Slightly Mad Studios has continued to tease some new cars of upcoming Project CARS 2 on its social media channels.

A new prototype is on the way, the Ginetta G57. Featuring a Chevrolet LS3 6.2 litre V8 and weighing only 900kg, this is a serious track weapon. Note though, this is not an LMP car. The G57 was not developed for LeMans, but rather as a trackday car, which is eligible to race in the VdeV, Dutch Supercar and any open sportscar competition.

Professional drifter and creator of the Ford Mustang RTR, Vaughn Gittin Jr, confirmed quite an unusual car on his Twitter account, his personal “Ford F-150 Ultimate Fun Haver”. This is not your usual F-150, the “Ultimate Fun Haver” is highly modified and thanks to its custom suspension, has a unique ride height too. The car certainly knows how to set itself apart.

Jaguars are coming. Note the plural, not only the 5.0-liter V8, 575hp F-Type SVR showcased in this Instagram post is on the way, there is more to come too.

And Jaguars are not the only British cars there are more of, joining the just recently unveiled McLaren 720s, which will be exclusively available in Project CARS 2, will be the mighty McLaren P1 GTR. A spiced up, track-only version of the already ludicrous P1, having 1000hp and a fixed rear wing, while weighing 50kg less than its road-going counterpart. Only 35 of these machines are in existence today.

Speaking of McLaren, Ian Bell has confirmed in a forum post that together with the street-legal McLaren P1 the other two cars making up the “Holy Trinity”, these being the Ferrari LaFerrari and the Porsche 918, will also be drivable in Project CARS 2. The “Holy Trinity” was only available in Assetto Corsa and Forza Horizon 2 so far.
