Something must be in the water this week at iRacing’s render studio. After releasing the first render of the DW-12 Dallara Indycar yesterday, iRacing has now released the first render of the forthcoming BMW Z4 GT3. iRacing’s Executive Vice President Steve Myers said via Twitter this afternoon that they are shooting for a mid summer release date, after the DW-12, which they are trying to release before the iRacing Indy 500 in late May. As we had previously reported, the BMW Z4 GT3 will join the McLaren MP4-12C GT3 and RUF RT12R Track Spec in the GT3 Series which is set to begin in Season 1 2014.
In less positive iRacing news, Steve Myers also said today that next weeks Season 1 2014 build could be delayed into the first week of the new season. Steve said the earliest he expects the new build to be released is next Thursday (January 23) and if it slips any later than that, the iRacing Daytona 2.4 will be delayed as well. I know myself and many others here at ISR are very much looking forward to that event so fingers crossed that it isn’t delayed.

Wow i cant wait for it to be released i know what i will be driving for the rest of the year
Yer me to that car will be a blast to drive
The GTE z4 isn’t the same spec as a GT3 z4 in real life though so how will it race alongside the Mclaren and RUF?
That is an excellent question that won’t have to be answered because iRacing is producing the GT3 car and NOT the GTE car like the dumb author wrote. My bad. Good catch David, the articles been updated.
